William Whitesides, born May 20, 1943, passed away on May 19, 2013. He went Home to rest in the lap of our Lord.
Bill served in the Marine Corps where he was honorably discharged after his tour of duty. Bill also was employed by Roadway Express where he retired after 40 years of service as a truck driver and dock worker. Bill lived and loved life to the fullest, especially when it came to his beloved wife, Cindy. Bill's interests in life were his family, taking photos, woodworking, loving animals, nature, Ohio State football, helping people, and traveling. Bill would always say "Serve God, work hard, and everything will fall in place. Semper Fi." He also was a member of St. John's St. Paul's.
Bill is survived by wife, Cindy; daughter, Felicia (Rob) Farley; sons, Robert (Carmen) Schutte and Joedy Schutte (fiancée Adrian); 5 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; his twin brother; and 2 sisters.
There will be a celebration gathering of Bill's life at St. John's St. Paul's Church, 282 W. Bowery St., Akron, OH 44307 on Friday at 3 p.m.
