William "Bill" C. Williams, 84, passed away February 3, 2021 with his family by his side. Born in Akron, Ohio to Ray and Carrie (Barth) Williams, he was a lifelong area resident. Bill attended the University of Toledo where he joined the ROTC and served in the Army Reserve. He was a pharmacist, working at Berneath Drug, Timken Mercy Medical Center, and other local pharmacies for more than 40 years. Bill was a sports enthusiast who played fastpitch softball and was well known for his pitching. He led local baseball/softball youth leagues and also was an umpire for years. Bill enjoyed war history, story telling and crossword puzzles. Most important to him was golfing with friends and Sunday dinners with family and friends. Bill was a devoted husband and father who for many years was the primary caretaker of his late wife and parents.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Shirley (nee Kirk); siblings, Don, Norma Brandle, and Carl; stepchildren, Jeff, Kim, and Kirk Lawson. He will be sadly missed by children, Chip, Brett (Trish), and Lisa (Mark) Ferguson; grandchildren, Lexi (Sean) Carlin, Nick, and Connor Ferguson; siblings, Emma Lou Wells and George; step daughter-in-law, Jeannie (Don) Bennett; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will have a celebration of Bill's life at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Bill's name to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association.
