June 12, 1940 — September 28, 2017
William "Bill" Wood, 77, went home to be with the Lord on September 28, 2017 after a courageous battle with spina bifida. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, "Teddy" and Grace. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Judy; children, Debra (Derek) Swan, Scott (Susan) Wood; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandsons; sisters, Pat Boone, Gloria Barkhurst; and special friend and caregiver, Howard Hayford.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 12:00pm - 3:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A memorial service will take place at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
