Bill went to be with the Lord at 5:50 AM on July 11, 2017 after a long illness.
A Christian, son, brother, and friend, he will be sorely missed.
Bill was a graduate of McKinley High School, class of 1973, and a devoted booster for a number of years. He was a former employee at Aultman Hospital and a present employee of Desert Inn Restaurant for 21 years.
Bill was an honorably discharged US Army veteran.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Betty A. (nee McWain) Young and William F. "Shorty" Young, Sr.; his grandmother and grand-aunts, Mattie Hill, Katherine Claybourne, Pearl Dubose, and Mattie Stokes; his grandfather, Willie Manson; and his sister, Diane D. Young.
He leaves behind his siblings, Dephanie A. Young, Sherrie A. Young, Julia K. Young all of Canton, Ohio, Reginald L. (Teresa) Young of Akron, and Milton H. (Marsha) Young of Canton; his nieces and nephews, Tasha (Carol) Young, Lenora Young, Ricardo Young, Rochard Young, Reggie (Netta) Young, Aaron F. Lee-Young; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
His best friend, Marvin Williams; and his other close friends, Richard Jackson, Ronald Bond and Rev. Renard Torrence.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio, where Rev. Renard Torrence will celebrate William's life.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
Following all services, Mr. Young will be cremated and his cremated remains will be buried at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
