Willie Henry Brewer affectionately called Billy, Mr. B, Mr. Brewer, Pop, Dad, Willie by his family and friends went home with the Lord on August 31, 2023 after a brief illness surrounded by family. Willie was the second oldest son of 18 children born to the union of Wiley and Malinda Brewer in Columbus Mississippi on July 30, 1923. Willie was united in holy matrimony to Louise Brewer in 1946 in Columbus, Mississippi. To this union 8 children was born. Willie moved to Akron, Ohio in 1950 and lived in this community over 75 years, worked at Goodyear Air Space and Middleton Construction Co. for many years. He was a former member of Bethal Baptist Church under leadership of Pastor Humprey.
The sorrow of "Dad" passing will fade. The memories and knowledge he gave will remain in the hearts of all those who loved him.
Willie was a loving father always finding time for his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and anyone else in need of a father figure.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Louise Brewer; parents; 13 siblings; and 2 sons, Willie H. Brewer Jr., and James Lee Brewer.
Willie is survived by 5 daughters, Helen Mae, Rose (James) Johnson, Barbara Fields, Joann (Gerald) Stafford, and Desiree (Monty) Fissella; 3 sons, Robert (Pauline) Brewer, Willie (Linney) Brewer, and adopted son Jeff (Ann) Gwen; special partner Stephanie "Nicky" Norris of 15 years; grandchildren James Jr. (LaSara) Johnson, Tim (Leela) Andrew, Willie E. (Lola) Brewer Jr., Tonya Mae, Vonda Johnson, Justin Stafford, Monique Mae, Robert Andrew, Jason (Quay) Andrew; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, 5 sisters Emma Green, Army Edmunds, Ernestine Parker, Orange " Pumpkin" Sneed, and Armal "Boot" Brown; nieces, nephews, and other relatives; special friends Chester (Sara) Mae, Vickie Stafford, Shinita Patrick, Andre, Mrs. Arnold, Elliot Turner (Chip) Rickey, Dakota and family, Diedre Norris, Janetta Williams, and many other friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 16th from 10:00am to 11:00am at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 11:00am.
Interment will be held at Glendale Cemetery.
Willie's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
