Willie Mae Bennett "Mae"

Willie Mae Bennett "Mae", 84, went home to be with the Lord on September 24, 2009, at Akron General Medical Center. Mae was born in Jefferson County, Alabama, and was a resident of Akron. She retired from the City of Akron and was a member of Harvest House Church. Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey L. Bennett; sisters, Ida McPhail, Detroit, MI, Adell Wheeler and Wilma Humphries, of Akron; brothers, Johnny, James, Walter, and Archie Berry, of Akron. Surviving brother Alfred Berry, of Chicago, IL, and surviving sister Ruth Blackwell, of Akron. She leaves three devoted children to cherish her memory, Marlene Richards, Harvey L. Bennett, Jr., and Lynnette (Thomas) Hilliard. Mae leaves nine grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relative, and friends. Calling hours will be Friday, Oct. 2, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Harvest House Christian Center, 200 Rothrock Rd. Copley, with a funeral service at 12 p.m., Pastor Jerome Parker officiating. Condolences may be sent to 1168 Yukon Ave.
