Willis F. Jay

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Willis F. Jay, who passed on September 25th. He was born in 1935, residing in Doylestown for over ten years. He was previously a long-term resident of Barberton.

To all who knew him, he was just "Jay". He was a hard worker all his life, and retired from waste management after 40 years of service. He was immensely proud of his family, and will be missed by his 3 children; Roxanne (Lee) Maynard, Robert Jay, and Rebecca (Ronald) Stayer; 6 grandchildren Joseph, Brandi, Dayne, Chelsea, Ashley and Joshua, and 3 great grandchildren.

Jay was a veteran of the US Army and loved the thrill of skydiving in his youth. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending summers with family camping at Leesville Lake. He enjoyed an occasional game of chess, but his passion was playing poker. Whether high stakes or a family game, Jay was "all-in". Nothing would make his day like a road trip to the casino. He was loved for his ornery spirit.

Per Jay's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
