Wilma Honaker

Wilma Honaker, 88, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on November 26, 2017. A longtime Akron resident, she was born on November 21, 1929 in Hodges, AL to late parents, William and Clara Vaughn. Wilma retired from the Brown Derby after many years of service. She was a very loving, caring person with many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Oscar Honaker. Wilma is survived by her children, Karen McElroy, Kathy Radovic, Sharon (Roy) Glaze and Mary Honaker; 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters; best friends, Terry and Gloria Copen; and her country music friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 4-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 12pm with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron to follow.
