Wilma L. Griffa

Wilma L. Griffa (nee Neidlinger)
Wilma L. Griffa, 86, passed away April 6, 2011. She was born in Plymouth, Indiana on July 20, 1924 to the late Floyd and Dorothy Neidlinger. She graduated from East High School and retired from Richmond Brothers and later the Summit County Board of Elections. She also was a manager for Lawson's. Wilma was active in the Akron chapter of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA) where she was awarded Business Woman of the Year, the Ohio Council, the Summit County GOP, and the Mogadore Women of the Moose. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Griffa; daughter, Carol Jean Goodspeed; brothers, David and Glenn Neidlinger; and sister, Phyllis Koegle. Wilma will be deeply missed by her daughter, Deborah Ann Griffa; sisters, Janis Mittelstaedt, Nancy (Homer) Gillespie, and Martha (Richard) Maley; brothers, Harold "Bud" (Patricia) Neidlinger; and Paul (Joyce) Neidlinger; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Wilma's family would like to thank T3 Critical Care Unit at Summa Hospital for all the care given to her. Family and friends may call TODAY from 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Sherman Bailey officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
