Yoshiko "Candy" Taylor
Yoshiko "Candy" Taylor, 82, of Jackson Twp., died beautifully in her daughter's arms January 17, 2013. She was born on June 27, 1930 in Japan where at the age of 22 she met and married, only 60 days later, Francis "Junior" Taylor, the handsome American soldier who followed her home from the marketplace. Despite her initial rejection, he courted her through an interpreter, and thus began their fairy tale love affair, which lasted until his death on May 1, 1982.
Candy, also affectionately nicknamed "Bramma" loved gardening, shopping and collecting t-shirts from all the places she traveled. Words can never fully describe the impact she had on those around her. Truly, to know her was to love her. She was a very kind, generous, loving, strong spirited, wise, often ornery and amazing woman whose cute accent and spin on words, which we refer to as "Bramma-isms", will generate smiles for years to come.
Candy will be greatly missed by her son Bruce Taylor (Diana) and daughter Tamako Taylor-Sandomierski (Todd); grandchildren Jill (David), Jennifer, Jessica, Hanna and Travis; great-grandchildren Aubrey, Madilynn, Abbi and Mason; and many other family and friends.
Family and friends may call on Monday, January 21, from 4-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 22 at 11:00 a.m. with Pat Neitz and Dan Owens officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery.
