Zerna Anne Silvey

Zerna Anne Silvey, age 84, of Akron, OH, passed away on November 28, 2024, in the early morning hours, with her family holding her in their hearts. She was born on February 26, 1940, in Fayette, MO, to the late James "Levi" and Melba Jackson.

She dedicated 20 years to Visiting Nurse Service, where her work and compassionate nature made a lasting impact. Above all, Zerna treasured the simple joys of life: spending time with her family, baking delicious treats for those she loved, and enjoying the natural beauty of the beach. She found fulfillment in living a peaceful and modest life.

She is survived by her beloved son, Ewell Frederick and Barbara Silvey; her dear sister, Cheryl and John Hoard; her grandsons, Russell (Jennifer) and Randy (Jennifer); great-grandchildren Lillian, Madison, Henry, and Nora; nephew Wendall Jackson; nieces Kimberly Teodosio (daughter Lexi) and Kristi Caughey (Joe, daughters Olivia and Sophia); as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, who will miss her warm and gentle spirit. Zerna will be remembered for her love, and the quiet grace with which she lived her life.

In addition to her parents, Zerna was lovingly preceded in death by her devoted husband of 58 years, Ewell "Rube" Silvey, and her cherished brother, Wendall Jackson.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Parkside Church of Green (4520 S. Arlington Rd., Uniontown, OH 44685). Family and friends may visit from 11am until the time the service begins at 1pm, followed by a time of fellowship.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Zerna's honor to Parkside Church of Green.
